Over 90% of the people in our jails are because of alcohol and substance abuse.
As many as 70% of Americans say that addiction to alcohol or other drugs has had an impact on them at some point in their lives.
Over all, an estimated 22.2 million Americans ages 12 or older is considered to need treatment for an alcohol or drug use disorder.
Not to mention those who have sexual, gambling, and numerous other addictions. Yet, large numbers of people in need of treatment do not receive it and prevention is left to the public school systems.
